COVID-19 Era: Crowhop, Sit Deep; Lessons From Life
“When you get into a tight place, and everything goes against you till it seems as if you couldn't hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that's just the place and time that the tide'll turn.” Harriet Beecher Stowe
Solutions are right in front of you. Look, listen, learn. Having been jammed in a stall corner facing the hefty backside of a Quarter horse, there are times to hold fast because the horse will turn. (Never again would enter a box stall no matter how roomy without a halter on the horse and a lead line. Lesson learned in spades.)
“I have had dreams, and I’ve had nightmares. I overcame the nightmares because of my dreams.” Jonas Salk
As a new year gathers steam, icy blasts and slippery paths appear. Hunker down, weather storms of several varieties. Review, move forward. Add to the toolbox of life skills. Reflect, keep going.
“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.” — Eleanor Roosevelt#Leadership #Courage #Aviation pic.twitter.com/F89iBVxJHK

“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.” Robert A. Heinlein

Wethersfield center (Webb-Deane-Stevens visitor center, pre-Christmas) was not aware of Rocky Hill collections; Cromwell holdings. The Morgan site. That the center itself–the expansion–revealed indigenous history. Connecting these places through time, an overview? To give voice to those who lived and worked here, seeing through time so others may also learn and explore. So much more.
Editor's note: Keep to best practices of a mask, double mask. According to the CDC (and many other leaders in medicine and science) COVID is airborne, so take heed. Ignorance is also contagious so wash your hands, listen to science and if not vaccinated and boosted, speak with your doctor about getting protected. This is not humanity's first pandemic and will not be our last.
